Heather K. Bathgate
A career in Human Resource management in international companies has given me extensive experience in change management, international mobility, rewards and recognition. Predominantly in the chemical industry and more recently in the medical devices industry, I have held responsibilities in various European countries including UK, France and the Nordic countries. This and many contacts with the USA have enhanced my understanding of the importance of cultural awareness in the workplace.
A natural continuation of my path therefore was to specialise in coaching people. My experience enables me to blend business acumen with an understanding of human issues. I have embraced ontological coaching because I truly believe in the effectiveness of working with the human being as a whole, creating awareness of mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.
I studied the Art and Practice of Ontological Coaching and obtained my diploma as a Certified Coach at Newfield Network Inc. in the USA, accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF). I have also completed Open University studies in Counselling and Exploring Anxiety and Depression.
British born and educated, I have lived in England, Northern Ireland, France and Belgium. After receiving my diploma in Business Studies and Languages, I began my career in France and later moved to Belgium where I met my husband and settled in Brussels.
In my spare time, I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, travel and amateur theatre. I like to reminisce over my fun experiences of swimming with dolphins in New Zealand and Mexico, and my trek in the foothills of Everest. I embrace alternative, holistic approaches to life and seek to make a difference, however small, to making the world a better place for everyone.
Languages: I am delighted to be able to coach in English and in French.
